Diet plays an important role in your health and is closely linked to many chronic conditions. That’s why a healthy diet is key to living a healthy life.
If you have diabetes your healthcare professional will tell you what foods you can and can’t eat
Exercise for 30 minutes at least three times a week. If your work is physically active, do stretch exercises.
You don’t have to join a gym, you can:
Dance at home to your favourite music.
Form an exercise club with friends or people who have the same condition as you.
Go walking or jogging together. This is also a good time to talk about things that are worrying you.
If you are overweight, try to slim down.
Eat smaller healthy meals, exercise and avoid sugar.
You’ve taken care of your body, now it’s time to look after your mind (and heart, and soul).
If you smoke or use drugs, give up the habit!
Have little or no alcohol.
Get help or support to break these habits if needs be.
